About the artist
Kim Sharkey is a multi-media artist living by the sea on the west coast of Ireland in Co.Donegal; working in art, illustration, ceramics, animation, workshop facilitation and arts project management.
On first leaving school Kim completed a two year art foundation in the area of fine art painting and ceramics then an honours degree in Decorative Arts which cemented her life long passion for creating art in the hand made, specialising at that time in ceramics. She went on to train in studio pottery skills; after years of creativity in that field, combined with workshop facilitation, her love of words and story found her back in an educational setting where she combined the hand crafted and hand drawn elements through animation. In this consuming combination of words, story, drawing, hand crafted and digital she feels creatively at home. (adapted from Kim’s website)
