What We Do
Oide Creativity (Formerly Arts in Junior Cycle)
Oide present a series of professional learning experiences for teachers to support their engagement with the arts and learning in junior cycle.
These events and workshops embody the principles and key skills which underpin the Framework for Junior Cycle and the Arts in Education Charter and provide teachers with practical and creative methodologies to use in their professional classroom practice.
The initiative is based on partnership and collaboration with key elective partners across the arts and education sectors. We aim to support artists, writers, actors, musicians, filmmakers, theatre companies etc. to create professional learning experiences for Junior Cycle teachers.
Arts in Junior Cycle, supported by the Creative Ireland programme (2017–2022), Pillar 1 Creative Youth, is guided by the principles expressed in the Arts in Education Charter (2012) and originated from an Arts Council and JCT council pilot initiative which started in 2014.
